Handmade Felted Scarves and Wraps

Each of these pieces is one of a kind - perfect for a little warmth on a cool summer's evening, a cosy snuggle in front of the TV or for warmth and comfort in the winter.

Wraps take around 8 hours to make, scarves around 5 - it takes approximately 2-3 hours to lay out the wool for a wrap and then around 3-5 to work the wool into felted cloth - the process is a meditative and ancient one.

I use high-quality wools and fibres, olive oil soap and lots of time and energy in making these pieces. Many of the wools have been artist-dyed, the wools originally coming from small herds of specialised breeds of sheep or alpaca - often I add silk for its softness and shine. Occasionally a piece has silk ribbon, collected threads or fabrics, lace or hand-embroidery incorporated into it.

Gentle Felted Scarf; layers of organic, cruelty free hand-dyed grey, mauve, pinks, ochre, greens and vanilla with stripes of cashmere and silk threads, this scarf is very feminine on one side and masculine (plainer) on the other - with a little vintage button stitched to one corner. Made from British, South African and Australian sheep's wool with a good dose of silk and cashmere. Measures approx.8 x 47 inches / 21 x 119 cm; this scarf is beautifully soft and warm and should keep you snug. Lavender Fields Felted Scarf/ Wrap; almost gossamer-light, this is perfect for stashing in your handbag for cold-weather emergencies. Beautiful sage cruelty-free baby Alpaca wool (England) with British and Australian Merino and a generous helping of shining silk - all the lovely ribbony, satiny strands you see is gorgeous hand-dyed silk; this piece is especially soft and lovely. Joy Felted Scarf; a perfect girly scarf made from cruelty-free hand-dyed British Blue Faced Leicester and Australian Merino wools, silk and collected threads from across the years and my travels. Vibrant greens with maroons, cream with rose, grey with blue and all sorts of shades in-between, this scarf has one side which is decorated with collected threads, the other side shows off the wool; measures approx. 11½ x 47 inches / 29 x 120 cm; this scarf is beautifully soft and warm and should keep you snug. Aquamarine Felted Wrap; gorgeously soft and tactile, this is made with a variety of hand-dyed, organic British and Australian sheep's wool mixed with a good dose of silk - the lovely shiny wisps you can see in the piece is silk - this wrap also has a very pretty sparkle running through it. Cherry Blossom Felted Scarf/ Wrap. Hand-Dyed cruelty-free bay Alpaca, British and Australian Merino wool, lace, collected yarns and threads and generous helpings of silk make this generously proportioned scarf special - a pretty mix of pink and grey with lace and ribbon yarns inclusions, I imagine someone wrapping this round their shoulders on a winters night in front of the TV with the lights turned down watching a good film, with a glass of Baileys....mmmm. Love Felted Scarf/ Wrap; this is one of my favourites, its so soft you'll find yourself constantly touching it. Fine British Merino wool, hand-dyed and cruelty-free with lashings of silk fibres - gorgeous; luscious colours ranging from acid yellow and ochre to mauves and lavenders, peaches and rose - one side shows the lovely shiny silk fibres off, the other side shows the colours of wools - almost gossamer light, this is one of those great pieces to have in your handbag for cold chilly day emergencies. Indian Summer Felted Scarf/ Wrap; whether it’s a summer's evening wrap or a beautiful cheering winter's scarf you want, this one should fit the bill; hand-dyed cruelty-free British Merino wools with lots of silk - all the shimmery shiny stuff you can see in the piece is silk. Soft, soft soft, this piece took around 10 hours to complete and the colours just seem to brighten up the world. Measures approx. 16 x 57 inches / 41 x 144 cm, you'll just find yourself wrapped up in love and warmth when you wear this. Royal Felted Scarf/ Wrap; this is one of my favourites, its so soft you just want to snuggle it - there is a lot of hand-dyed silk with the lovely soft British Merino wool in this piece, and a little sparkle runs through it as well - gorgeous deep berry colours ranging from deep purples, black, ochre, fuchsia and blues to name a few - one side is stripy and the other side is slightly checked - lots and lots of silk showing through both sides, this piece took around 8 hours to complete.
